Keynote Speaker

Juan Manuel Santos

2016 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
President of Colombia (2010-2014; 2014-2018)

Juan Manuel Santos is recognized as one of the most influential leaders in the world. He was the sole recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2016 for ending the longest armed conflict with the oldest guerrilla in the Western Hemisphere (his resolute efforts to bring the country’s more than 50-year-long civil war to an end). He was on the cover of Time Magazine and appeared twice on the list of the 100 most influential people in the world. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of COMPAZ Foundation, which he created to promote peace, protect the environment and fight poverty mainly through grassroots leadership. He is also a member of the board of the International Crisis Group, the Wildlife Conservation Society, the Global Commission on Drug Policy and recently became part of The Elders. He is also a visiting professor at Oxford University. Juan Manuel Santos full bio here.
