David Oxfeld

Chief Commercial Officer, Miami Marlins

David Oxfeld is in his first season as the Miami Marlins’ Chief Commercial Officer having been named to the post in November 2022. His sixth season with the organization. In his new role, Mr. Oxfeld will focus on expanding commercial relationships throughout the organization, with oversight of strategic initiatives across multiple lines of business – including Marlins Membership, Group, Premium and Inside Sales, along with Partnership strategy and development. He will also work alongside the business analytics group to enhance Marlins single-game initiatives and the integration of Marlins Home Run Rewards and Club 305 programs. Mr. Oxfeld will also consult with the loanDepot park events team to help cultivate relationships as the organization looks to further entrench loanDepot park as a top entertainment destination in South Florida through an expanded lineup of marquis concerts, premiere events, and corporate outings.

Oxfeld’s tenure with the Marlins began in 2017 as Vice President of Partnerships Development. During his time overseeing Partnerships, his team has procured more than 100 new corporate partners, developed the Marlins Pillar Partner program that showcases the organization’s top-tiered partners (highlighted by three new additions to the organization’s partner roster since 2020, including two Fortune-500 companies), and led the charge to secure the first-ever naming rights partner for the Miami Marlins organization – loanDepot park, as well as the organization’s first jersey patch partner in ADT. As a member of the leadership team, Mr. Oxfeld has implemented a focus on changing brand perception in the marketplace through professionalism, trust and the importance of being true partners with those who invest in the Miami Marlins.

Prior to joining the Marlins, Mr. Oxfeld spent more than five years at Excel Sports Management as Vice President of Client Sales and Business Development. In his role, Mr. Oxfeld was responsible for selling nonendemic endorsements and partnerships for a roster of top athletes and entertainers. During that time, Oxfeld was recognized as one of Sports Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award winners in 2017. Prior to that, Mr. Oxfeld worked for parts of seven seasons in the New York Mets organization as well as the Madison Square Garden Company. Mr. Oxfeld, who lives on Miami Beach with his wife Alana and son Spencer, graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Sports Management in 2002. He is a current member of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and serves as a member of the University of Michigan Sports Business Conference Advisory Board.
